If you've decided to hire house painters to increase your home's value, you might still be deciding which room you'd like them to paint. After all, there are a lot of different rooms to choose from! Whatever one you pick, you'll likely want to stay home after it's painted. There's just something about a freshly painted room that makes you want to be a homebody. You won't be alone in wanting to do that – 88% of people feel the same way after an interior room is painted, according to HouseGrail. Here are three rooms you'll want to tell your house painters to work on.
This is one of the rooms that potential buyers look at first. People are going to be using this as one of the social hubs – whether it's to make meals, do dishes, or even stand around and talk. Would you want to do that in a place that has a kitchen with dingy wallpaper or in one that has brand-new paint on the walls? Buyers would likely be interested in the second scenario.
When it comes to picking the colors, you're going to have a lot of choices. Do you want to go with white, which gives it a sleek modern look but can also show dirt really easily? What about going with the color navy? That's a color that's timeless. You can even be bold and go with pink – but you don't know how your buyers would feel about that. Weigh everything and then talk it over with the house painters. They may even have some suggestions for you. Whatever the case, you'll have a kitchen that looks great.
People are going to look at the outside of your home. It's going to be the first thing that they see when they pull up to the curb. That's why it's called your home's curb appeal. If people take one look and see a place that has a lot of paint chipping or the color is extremely faded, they're going to want to drive away again, even if they've had the kitchen freshly painted.
Just like the kitchen, you might be better off going with a white exterior. You could go with some other colors, but you don't want to go too crazy, since the potential buyers will also be thinking about whether they are going to have to pay someone to paint over the color that you have there. If it looks great, then you can ask for more money when you come up with the sale price. Talk it over with the house painters. Experienced ones can give you great advice.
These are just a few of the painting projects that you might want to have house painters do. It depends on what your time frame looks like. If you're putting your place on the market sooner than later, then you might want to just focus on a key room like the kitchen or increase your curb appeal with a new paint job. Then you'll be able to post photos of it with confidence.
This one's going to be a toss-up between that and the bathroom. If your bathroom is really old, then you might want to have the house painters do that room. If it looks fairly modern and the walls are clean, then you could go with having the living room painted if it's one or the other. Of course, if you have the time and the budget, you can have both of them painted.
People spend a good amount of time in the bathroom – they shower, shave, brush their teeth, and yes, they tend to other functions. You want a bathroom that feels clean and inviting, not something that feels like it would be better off in a fraternity house. The painting will help there.
You're also going to be spending a lot of time in the living room. This is another room you want to feel comfortable in. It's better to relax while watching TV in a freshly painted room than one with faded walls. Your potential buyers will be looking at both rooms!
